Recently made a trip into Alberta to capture some fall colors. This included a trip to Johnston Canyon and the capture of a few new water shots. Visiting heavily viewed / photographed places is both frustrating as well as fun, as you try to bring your eye and vision to the image – I hope you find that in the following 3 images. These are all for sale in various formats in my Gallery of Water images (goto Gallery)
So todays capture i decided to try a b/w image – this was taken on our drive yesterday, cool setting with the old run down house, you can barely make out the moon above the roofline.

Well it’s been a couple of days since my last post, took a few days break for the Xmas holidays. I got out for a drive today, we have been out looking for Moose or Deer but haven’t seen anything. However we were able to get a few Duck Shots so figured I would post one. Happy Holidays everyone.

I took this shot in Jasper in October of last year. At first I was most impressed with the photo but as I continue to look at it I wish that the Elk was more out in the open, giving the photo more of a balance looked. However its nature and wildlife and you can’t get them to move to where you want.

Well its been a month or so since I had a chance to get out and see what the Bighorn Sheep are up to. After the Rut all the Rams band together and spend the winter grazing. Its neat to see all these big boys hanging out and a good opportunity to get some closer shots.

As most of you know last night was the Lunar Eclipse, I got a chance to get out on the deck and get a few photos but was a little chilly and the clouds were in and out, this was my favourite out of the bunch.

Todays daily capture is from a road trip my cousin and I took to Edmonton last year. Taken in Jasper National park.

A indoor shot taken of my buddy holding a gorgeous Orange Corn Snake, the short Depth of Field worked really well here to ensure his body was not in the photo, and that the snake was the main focus. The heavily tattooed hands really make this work in my mind.

Todays capture is a Heron found here in kamloops close to any pockets of water. They stand super still and are a easy target for the Camera. I liked how this one was perched on the driftwood amongst the snow. Being able to include the log made for a nice composition, love including the habitat.
